Sidequests (4)

Good thing: this reminded me that I really like using Godot

Bad thing: I got distracted.

So, these were supposed to be joke options. I would have the same text with minimal alterations to continue with the main narrative of talking to the program, but... I got too silly...

I wanted to trick the player, but I ended up tricking myself into creating a primitive dating sim. You just pick some options and then the love bar goes up or down, and the sprites can change depending on  the mood... The code is pretty simple, I used things I learnt when making my sound game, and it is just a silly little self-indulgent part of the game.

On the other hand, the horror (?) part of the game is... Surely an experience. The mouse moves around like a flashlight, and it uncovers the text in black.  You can click buttons, but you do not want to click all the buttons.  The bottom image at the right is my face badly edited on my phone, because I remembered the weird faces that appear in Photoshop Flowey's fight, and while I thought of simply taking the sprites from Undertale, I decided to do it myself. Just because I could.

Both options have a lose condition. The dating sim is pretty simple, if you make too many wrong choices, you lose. For the horror game, it is based more on luck. You have to find keys and pick them up, but if you don't reach them on time with your mouse, then you die. Or something.

After that, you finally get to meet the actual program and have your little chat, and THEN you are done.
