Entry 007. Yeah


Another week has passed! As the due date arrives, my sense of time just gets funkier and funkier. But I have done some stuff!

New Landscape

I've been trying to do everything by myself, but for the landscape material after having SOOO many issues with it I gave in and got Unreal Sensei's Landscape Master Material. It made everything so much better. Now, depending on the height and how steep the surface is, it changes from grass to rock. It makes it look a lot nicer!

I got the rock texture online, but I made my own grass textures in Substance Designer somewhat following Poly Doorway's tutorial. I say somewhat because I did give up at a point and just started improvising and changing things, but yeah. I think the grass looks neat. I had also handpainted another grass texture, but it didn't work too well in this environment. I'll keep it for another project.

Opening Cutscene

I went insane and finally did the opening cutscene! It's not peak cinema, I got the animations from Mixamo, but I still really like how it looks. Unfortunately, there was a point in which I lost half of my progress because of course I did. Fucking Unreal.


It almost looks scary, but worry not! The forest is not too scary :)

Save/Load

After not touching the save/load system for a while I fixed something but now I cannot get it to save the fact that you have seen the cutscene so what's the point.

Extra Health

Some of the feedback I got from my testers was that there should be a way to get your health points back up! So I added an extra collectible that does that :)

Dulce In Real Life?!?!

I am now able to TOUCH the jackalope. What the hell. Thank you so much to my prof that printed it.
